Mont St Michelle

Saturday 14th April

A trip by bus to Mont St Michelle. 6am start, bus left Paris 7:15, 5 hr drive. good views of small villages along the route.

Lunch at local hotel as part of tour. Good food and local cider. Guided walking tour of the site then 1 hour of free time.

THe trip back took 4 3/4 hrs entering Paris passed the Eiffel Tower after 8:45 in evening.

April 13th

Friday

Day spent at the Louvre (7hrs) but still did not see it all. My advice to anyone planning to visit the site is to have two days of visit to spread the delight. Get a four day museum pass and avoid the queues. can be used at several major sites. A quick move at the end of the day to take another look at Notre Dame. The queue was too long and the breeze was chilly thus we did not go inside.

More touring around the city, this time on an L'Open tour bus

Revisit to Arc de Triomphe, Opera Garnier, Notre Dame

Shopping in the Latin quarter

April 11

April 11th  visit to the Musee L'Orangerie (Impressionist paintings) and guided walking tour around Montmartre

10 april

Tour of the city passing some of the main attractions including the Arc de Triumph, Eifell tower and a boat trip on the Seine.

Paris city

Monday 9 Apr: arrived Paris 6:30 am local time, tranferred to accomodation, set up then out to view city.

visted Tuilleries Gardens, Place du Concorde, walked besides the Seine,

Penang

Wednesday 4 Apr: Leave home 5pm, trip to Melbourne – good. Long wait til overseas flight

Thursday 5 Apr: Flight to KL leaves 12 05 am, Supper provided, settle down about 2:30 EST. Wake up call for breakfast about 5 am EST.  Land KL 8:20 EST [ 6:20 local time](8 hour flight). For first time arrival in KL, airport arrangement bewildering but plenty of time to figure it out. Flight to Penang left KL 10:30 local time (1 hr flight)  Transferred to Golden Sands resort, spent afternoon exploring, swimming and eating, Silver service evening meal at Rasa Lounge and Bar next door. Superb food and service.

Friday 6 Apr: Wakeup call to prayers at 6 am (muslem religion). Breakfast in lounge downstairs at hotel at 8:30 am. Taxi trip to butterfly house around the island a bit in the morning, visit a Baktic makers on way back. Organised tour of some Chinese Temples and a cable train ride to top of Penang Island in the afternoon. Evening meal at beachside café at resort.

Saturday 7 Apr: Wakeup call to prayers at 6 am (muslem religion). Breakfast in lounge. Ride on complementory bus to GeorgeTown. Spent 1hr shopping, then took a trishaw ride to Museum and surrounding attractions. cost 50 Ringett(20 dollars) for two hour ride. bus back to resort, dinner by the beach with evening listening to live band and watching lightening show over Malacca Straits

Sunday 8 Apr: Up early to pack bags. Taxi ride along road to visit a Tropical Spice garden. return to resort, pay bill and catch transport to air terminal. trip to KL (1 Hr). Wait for flight to Paris. Long haul 12 hours.
